Field Journal: 07-09 November 2018

This is the smallest/youngest Yellow-Spotted Millipede (Harpaphe haydeniana) I've ever seen.
A mature Yellow-Spotted Millipede
Banana Slug (genus Ariolimax) resting over a Yellow-Spotted Millipede
A California Lancetooth (Haplotrema minimum) snail shell. This one is unoccupied, which explains why the shell looks so translucent.
Another early-emerging mushroom (unidentified.) The mushrooms I see this time of year tend to have drier textures than the species I see in the later/wetter months.
This fine fellow - which I believe to be a Red-Tailed Hawk (Buteo jamaicensis) - happened to perch nearby just as I was leaving the preserve.
